We were sitting around at Burns the other night; meanwhile, it suddenly hit me like a train going thousands of miles an hour.
My perfect world is about to shatter.
None of the people that I've spent this year with will ever be in the same place like they have been again. Everyone is taking some different path in life, and even those staying around the 843, who knows where our hearts and minds will wonder a few months down the road.
It's a lesson learned that all good things come to an end, and it is better to leave it bitter sweet rather than in anxious anticipation for it to be over. If i could freeze time and replay the past semester over and over again, I would. all of us would probably.
I am always going places, leaving adored people behind, reuniting with others from my life years later, meeting new favorites, seeing and living in new cities. The experience has been phenomenal and ironically, something always tends to bring me back to Charleston.
Holy City, there is something about you that is brighter than the lights of Paris, the cozyness of Innsbruck, the night life in Sofia, the wildness of Munich, the sunshine of Thessaloniki, and the romance of Ljublijana.
Despite that I am yet again running off on a jet plane to show Berlin and the rest of Germany what life is all about, I promise to come back.
Here's...
to 4 amazing years of college and two degrees.
to a solid group of true friends (and countless acquaintances).
You are my heart.
You are my soul.
You all are one of the best parts of my life.
to 5 different apartments and a 6th one lined up come August.
to an unforgettable fraction of my education in Austria.
to one too many roommates but each with its charm.
to so much laughter and more alcohol than I ever plan on consuming in the future.
and of course...to all the boys I kissed in college (starting with Budden - EMMY, laugh!)
Charleston, thanks for being good to me.
hahahaha. you know it.
